Anger is a normal emotion when we believe that things have gone very, very wrong. However, when anger becomes a “problem-of-life” or “problematic anger”, it would be beneficial to seek professional assistance from a qualified and experienced psychotherapist. My treatment approach is rooted in the concept that problematic or inappropriate anger stems from an individual’s inability and\or unwillingness to express the anger in a normal, mature or age-appropriate manner. For example, it might be normal for a three year old to have a slight temper-tantrum when told he or she can’t have ice-cream before dinner, but it would not be normal behaviour for a thirty three year old individual to have a temper-tantrum when he or she is told that the delivery of a purchased item has been delayed.
